The Analytics and Innovation (Ai) team at United Airlines works to innovate, transform, and solve complex business problems resulting in significant and measurable enterprise impact through the application of deep cross-functional business expertise and advanced analytics.  We work with business and technology partners across the enterprise (e.g. Airport Operations, Contact Centers, Network Planning, Revenue Management, Digital Products, Human Resources, etc.) to influence strategic decisions, enterprise strategy, business process, and to help connect the dots across the enterprise.  We aim to be an organization with whom and within everyone loves to work!

The team is currently looking for an analytics intern who has a passion for data and analytics with the willingness to dig deep into details. The intern will translate data findings into insights and recommendations for business stakeholders and contribute in developing smart and innovative solutions across many of United’s departments.

• Execute solutions to business problems using data analysis, data mining, report generation and statistical modeling 
• Create and develop reports and dashboards for United leadership and external stakeholders
• Effectively structure communication of insights from work streams and deliver clear and professional presentations to team and project managers

This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and 
sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded. 
This position is for United Airlines Business Services Pvt. Ltd - a wholly owned subsidiary 
of United Airlines Inc.

Qualifications

Required 

• Bachelor's degree 
• 3rd / 4th Year Graduate Students 
• (having availability to work on 6-month internship) 
• Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship
• Advanced level comfort with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Powerpoint
• Ability to manipulate and analyze complex data to highlight patterns and relationships
• Experience in using database querying tools and able to write queries using Teradata SQL and/or Microsoft TSQL
• Familiarity with one or more reporting tools – Spotfire / Tableau / Power BI
• Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork
• Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship
• Must be fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
• Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Preferred

• Engineering, Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Economics
• Proficiency in Programming Languages (Python / R / Pyspark)
