About the Role

This is a highly active entry-level SRE role designed to help build and secure the reliability of a high-scale financial platform. Working alongside Product and Engineering teams, you will learn to map failure points, dig deep to find actual root causes, and help build self-healing systems that support Vymo's global infrastructure.

The ultimate goal is for you to dive deep into how high-scale distributed systems work, rapidly building enough context on our infrastructure bottlenecks that senior engineers trust you to spot system limitations just as well as the authors of the service.

Responsibilities

  • Build & Improve Reliable Infrastructure: Contribute to building, scaling, and maintaining resilient AWS or Azure cloud infrastructure while partnering with engineering teams to optimize system reliability and operational efficiency for Vymo's growing global customer base.
  • Automate & Streamline Engineering Workflows: Optimize CI/CD pipelines and drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives using Terraform or CloudFormation to automate repetitive operational tasks and ensure safe, efficient software deployments.
  • Enhance Observability & Operational Excellence: Implement advanced monitoring and logging using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog to rapidly troubleshoot production incidents and conduct deep-dive root cause analyses that prevent recurring issues.
  • Support Security & Platform Reliability: Embed DevSecOps best practices into deployment pipelines and maintain secure cloud environments through robust IAM, networking, and infrastructure security configurations that align with industry compliance standards.
  • Learn, Collaborate & Grow: Partner with Product and Engineering teams during architecture reviews and incident postmortems to improve platform performance while continuously mastering modern SRE, DevOps, and cloud practices.

Qualifications

  • Requires 1–3 years of hands-on experience in cloud-native environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure), supporting production systems and driving operational excellence.

Required Skills

  • Orchestration & Automation: Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or ArgoCD), with the ability to automate operational tasks using Bash or Python.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Exposure to tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi to provision and maintain version-controlled cloud infrastructure.
  • Observability & Incident Management: Hands-on experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or ELK) and participating in incident response and root cause analysis.
  • Cloud, Security & Reliability: Strong understanding of Linux, networking, IAM, DNS, and cloud services, with preferred exposure to DevSecOps and compliance standards like SOC 2, ISO 27001, or GDPR.

Preferred Skills

  • Mindset & Core Traits: Driven to dig beneath the surface of distributed systems and ask "why" repeatedly to learn from production challenges.
  • Automation First: Proactively eliminates repetitive work by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through scripting and tooling.
  • Reliability Mindset: Takes ownership of system health by flagging risks and improving observability to build scalable infrastructure.
  • Collaborative Problem Solver: Partners with Product and Engineering to troubleshoot live issues and continuously enhance platform reliability.
  • Growth Mindset: Thrives in fast-paced environments, eager to learn from senior engineers and take ownership of critical systems.

Vymo is committed to diversity and inclusivity in the workplace.
