Job Description

About:

  • The Game Art Developer will create and prepare visual game assets that align with Peblo's curriculum-focused, child-friendly educational games.
  • Working closely with game developers, designers, and animators, you will ensure assets are optimized and ready for integration on platforms like Unity.
  • Your work will bring educational stories and mechanics to life through compelling visuals that support gameplay, storytelling, and learner engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create high-quality 2D/3D game assets including characters, environments, props, UI elements, and animations following Peblo’s style and pedagogical goals
  • Optimize and prepare assets for seamless integration and performance on Unity and other game development platforms
  • Collaborate closely with Unity developers and instructional game designers to ensure assets fit gameplay mechanics and learning narratives
  • Refine and iterate assets based on feedback from creative, educational, and technical teams for visual consistency and quality
  • Maintain asset libraries with version control and documentation to support reuse and modular game design
  • Ensure assets respect cultural relevance and are engaging and appropriate for children ages 5 to 12
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to contribute visually creative ideas that enhance learning and play experiences
  • Keep up with trends and best practices in game art creation, optimization, and educational media visuals

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience in game art development or digital asset creation for games or interactive media, preferably with educational or children’s content
  • Strong portfolio showcasing 2D/3D art, character design, UI elements, environments, and animations
  • Proficiency with industry-standard art and animation tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Blender, Maya, Spine, or similar
  • Good understanding of game engines (especially Unity), asset import/export requirements, and technical constraints
  • Solid grasp of game design principles and how visual elements contribute to gameplay, story, and learning outcomes
  • Ability to work collaboratively with developers, designers, and educators remotely, adapting to feedback quickly
  • Attention to detail with a focus on optimization for mobile-first learning experiences
  • Passion for crafting playful, engaging, and culturally relevant educational content for children

Nice to Have:

  • Prior experience working on educational games or gamified learning products
  • Familiarity with pediatric learning theories, cognitive development stages, and curriculum alignment
  • Experience using AI-assisted art generation tools and willingness to experiment with new creative technologies
  • Exposure to UI/UX design principles for children’s digital experiences
