Job overview and responsibilities 

As an Associate Engineer (Cloud DevOps) you will be challenged to create, maintain, support, and improve complex cloud operations for United’s Revenue Systems that runs mission-critical and highly complex modules such as Network Planning, Revenue Management, Cargo eCommerce & with special emphasis around continuous improvement of processes by applying modern engineering principles around DevOps and/or Site Reliability Engineering

This role is responsible for partnering with cross functional application, platform, development, operations, architecture, and Business stakeholders to provide DevOps support for mission critical applications, while helping streamline, automate, and mature existing processes.

Operates with a team of talented nimble engineers and SMEs who bring a lot of energy, focus and fresh ideas that support our mission to provide value by seeing the world “Through Customer' Eyes”

·Maintain and support automation and processes to enable teams to deploy, manage, configure, scale, and monitor applications

·Maintaining and supporting highly resilient cloud eco-systems (production and non production)

·Maintain and support world-class, cloud capable, state-of-the-art products by:

·Maintaining automated build processes

·Support and maintain CI/CD pipelines

·Deploying to public cloud providers like AWS

·Maintaining and supporting tools & utilities that help accelerate day-to-day activities of operations and support teams

·Partnering with development and platform/prod support teams at the appropriate stages in application development to ensure any new systems or projects leverage enterprise DevOps standards

·Staying on top of tech trends, learning new technologies, and participating in internal technology communities

Qualifications

Required 

·Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field

·0-1 years entry level

·University graduate 

·Working knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) and configuration management tools

·Basic working knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS)

·Basic working knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Github) and CI/CD tools

·Working knowledge of agile development methods

·Strong written/oral communication skills, data focused, able to work in a team environment, project management, analytical skills

·Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship

·Must be fluent in English.

·Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

·Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Preferred

·Software engineering and/or DevOps experience
