About the role

We are looking for a passionate Technical Writer Intern who enjoys transforming complex technical concepts into clear and engaging content. In this role, you’ll work closely with product managers, engineers, and the customer success team to create documentation that helps developers and customers succeed.

What you’ll do

From day one, you’ll be treated as a full member of the documentation team. Expect to:

• Create and maintain high-quality documentation such as user guides, how-to articles, FAQs, integration guides, and release notes.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and customer success teams to document new features and platform updates.
• Review and update existing content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
• Create visuals such as screenshots, GIFs, and videos to enhance the clarity and engagement of technical content.
• Ensure documentation aligns with the HackerRank Documentation Style Guide for voice, tone, formatting, and terminology.

Who you are

• Passionate about technical writing and developer-focused content.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s in Engineering or a Master’s in English, Journalism, or a related field.
• Collaborative team player who welcomes feedback.
• Curious, detail-oriented, and enjoys explaining how things work.

Even better if you have

• Familiarity with the Document Development Life Cycle (DDLC).
• Experience writing blogs, documentation, or open-source contributions.
• Familiarity with documentation tools (Markdown, Confluence, Notion) or project management tools (Jira, Linear).
• Experience using visual content tools such as Camtasia, ScreenStudio, or Snagit.
