Job Description

SED team (Software Environment Developer)

 

You will be part of Software Environment Developer (SED) team whose primary purpose is to secure a stable and efficient build environment aimed for components and products.

 

What you will do

 

Responsibility

  • Define architecture, develop, maintain, and administer the product build environment to meet business needs, adhering to relevant build frameworks and recommendations.
  • Plan and analyze changes in the build environment to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Work collaboratively in a hybrid set-up, engaging with a multi-geography team to achieve shared goals

 

 Must have skills

  • Linux: Experienced
    • Proficiency in Linux administration and troubleshooting.
  • Shell scripting: Experienced
    • Strong experience in shell scripting for automation and system tasks.
  • Python scripting: Experienced
    • Advanced knowledge of Python scripting for automation and tooling.
  • Jenkins: Experienced
    • Hands-on experience with Jenkins for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Git/Gerrit: Experienced
    • Advanced knowledge of working with Git/Gerrit for version control and code review processes.
  • Docker: Fundamental
    • Fundamental understanding of Docker for containerization.
  • Kubernetes: Fundamental
    • Fundamental knowledge of Kubernetes for container orchestration.
  • IP network skills: Fundamental
    • Basic IP network skills for troubleshooting and configuration.

 

Added Advantages to have:

    • Prior experience in maintaining and troubleshooting software delivery staging & release pipelines in a cloud-native development environment.
    • Prior experience of working in DevOps set-up

 

Typical work expectations

 

  • Troubleshoot and navigate in the build and test environment
  • Support developers via SED Helpdesk and Question channel
  • Self-driven, must be able to see what’s important to act upon, cannot always expect tasks from someone else
  • High quality awareness, production environment must always work, changes must always be carefully verified/secured
  • Problem solver mindset
  • Collaborate with central functions/organizations like GIC, SAN etc.
  • Participate in environment transformation/migration assignments

 

 

Minimum Qualification and Experience Requirements

  • B.E. (Bachelor of Engineering)/B Tech. (Bachelor of Technologies)/M Tech preferably in Computer Science or Electronics or Masters in Computer Application (MCA)
  • Reading/Writing/Listening proficiency in English Language
  • Hands on Experience in Software Engineering Technologies
