About The Hackathon:

The Ultimate Hackathon Experience is Back!

After the fantastic first edition of the hackathon, Thales is excited to announce the 2nd Thales GenTech India Hackathon! Here’s your chance to show your coding skills and compete for great cash prizes.

This is more than just a hackathon – it’s your opportunity to learn, shine, and meet the talented engineering teams at Thales.

Challenge Format:

This year we have a single-challenge hackathon. Participants will compete on one of the given themes starting on September 15, 2025

• Choose one of the themes given below:
  • Participants can compete solo or in teams of up to 5 members.

• Code submission is required in the provided repository, accompanied by a video presentation.

• The shortlisted teams will present in the final stage of the round, determining the winners.
• Your solution should align with one of the following themes:
  • Cybersecurity: Creating smart solutions to protect India’s digital space, especially around cloud security, AI model safety, and threat detection.
  • Inclusive EdTech: Building AI-driven, multilingual, and offline-friendly learning tools to help bridge education gaps across India, including support for differently-abled learners.
  • AI-Powered Solutions: Developing responsible, efficient AI applications for healthcare, agriculture, environment, and more, with a focus on security and real social impact.
  • Flight of the future: Aerospace focused solution/air traffic management/drones or UAV Control: Innovate the future of aviation with cutting-edge solutions in air traffic management, drone operations, and UAV control. Focus on enhancing safety, efficiency, and automation for next-generation aerospace systems.

• The video presentation in the round should include:
  • explanation of the concept,
  • technical design,
  • implementation details and added value,
  • Explicit emphasis on the impact within Thales's key business domains - Defence & Security | Aeronautics & Space | Cybersecurity & Digital identity
• Evaluation Criteria:
  • Relevance of the solution to the specified Thales domains
  • Utilisation of open-source technology
  • Adaptability to diverse scenarios
  • Ease of design, extensibility, and scalability

Eligibility Criteria:

• Open to everyone based in India. (Thales employees are not allowed participate in the hackathon)
