Your Key Responsibilities

• Product Design and Development of rolling contact bearing and similar mechanical products or components
• Interpret customer requirement, carry out design calculation using basic engineering tools, spread sheets, Schaeffler proprietary software tools, design guidelines and convert them into specification
• Conceptualize, create, optimize product and manufacturing drawings in 2D/3D using the latest CREO software. Create material master, BOM in PLM software Wind-Chill.
• Participate in product development process and lead a specific new product development project
• Support customer enquiry and quotation process, create concept drawings for costing and submission to customers
• Support cross functional team for product costing, manufacturing, and supplier feasibility.
• Undertake VA/VE project for the designated product line to support manufacturing plant in optimizing process, materials, weight, assembly etc.
• Regularly visit supplier for optimizing design parameters, manufacturability issues with cross functional team of new product development or VA/VE projects. Occasionally visit customer for understanding and resolving product related customer complaints

Your Qualifications

• Candidate should have degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Possess strong fundamentals in basic engineering calculation, strength of material, selection of materials and heat treatment, machining/ finishing processes etc.
• Proficient in CREO Software
• Conversant with APQP tools, DFMEA
• Working Knowledge of PLM tool such as Windchill
